An Example of Her Letters

This letter was written to my paternal grandfather on January 31, 1947. They didn't change much throughout her life. This is exactly as I remember them in the 70's and 80's.
We always kidded mom that she never "wrote". Rather, each letter was hand drawn.

My mother said she couldn't draw. This drawing shows a great resemblance to those her mother did.

This was from a letter that Carol's mother, Lulu wrote and drew. Personally, I see a lot of similarity to Carol's art.

Mom was left handed as a child. This was considered "wrong" in the day and she was forced to learn to write with her right hand. Throughout her life, she could write with either hand with no discernable difference.
